+ I've been splitting all my free time lately between watching TV season DVDs from the library and attempting to catch up with my readings (why is Hobbes so dull, I honestly come this close to drifting off everytime I read one of his paragraphs on the bus ;_;). On that first count, I would like to say season four of How I Met Your Mother is a beautiful thing of comic joy forever. You should all be watching this!

+ Thanks to my inability to read Hobbes without sleeping I've switched to using my bus time to further continue my romance reading quest! I'm three chapters into Meljean Brook's The Iron Duke and I'm really enjoying it. Her worldbuilding is so excellent! It's a Victorian AU where England was invaded by some sort of nanogene using race called the Horde. The story's set seven years after they were driven out but their impact remains in the form of the genetic modifications done to all the humans who were living under them. The heroine is a inspector dedicated to finding justice for the dead bodies she investigates. I like her already. I haven't seen enough of the hero yet to make on opinion but provided he isn't a total twit this could turn out to be my favourite romance novel to date.

I am so excited about my intro to world religions course, oh my gosh. -twirls- My textbooks just came in from Amazon yesterday, they look totally awesome. Can it be September now?

Also I really really want to take the Japanese Culture and Film course except. Except it's nine credits which on top of being expensive might be overloading myself for next year. But they read Banana Yoshimoto and Haruki Murakami and the biggest complaint people seem to have on the prof on ratemyteacher is that he expects the class to lead the discussion too much and marks hard which. With a good class the first shouldn't be a problem and pfft. I CAN HANDLE YOUR MARKING SIR, BRING IT. -poses- So I guess I will have to decide something about that! Preferably soonish.

1. AUs: yes please or what's the point?

The first one! I love AUs with a mad burning love. Oftentimes I will read a thing or watch a thing and imagine how it might be skewed a little to the left. This has led to amazing imaginary playgrounds like the Harry Osbourne is Harry Potter universe and the Grand Unified Theory of Actor/Character Oneness (an actor is every character they have played in a movie! For example Ella of Frell is also Jane Austen! Pirate King Elizabeth Swann was Warrior Queen Guinevere in a past life! THINK OF ALL THE POSSIBILITIES)

2. What's the best AU you've read?

DDD= I read so many AUs it is impossible to choose. But I do tend to reread The Secret of Slytherin whenever I need a cheer up so let's go with that.

3. What's the worst AU you've read?

Usually if an AU is bad I will quit. So I have no answer.

4. How would you like to see your fandom altered that you haven't seen yet?

Merlin AU with Merlin and Gwen as partners running the Camelot Detective Agency. If anyone ever writes this I will probably flail all over their comments with joy.

5. What AU worked that you never would have expected?

-ponders- You know, nothing is coming to mind right now. Though part of that is I am pretty much 100% open to all AU possibilities. I've never really seen a concept that made me go NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS (watch me remember something that caused me to say just that the minute I post).

Post Justification: Another thing I did when doing The Wall analysis was write two of my responses to my old response papers! Because I needed a break from the Floydness of it all.

I'd feel guilty about the fact I'm faffing about on livejournal instead of doing homework except I already did both my fantasy and tech readings for the week and I helped move boxes out of the basement for about an hour (which left my right hand doing that weird thing where it curls inward and I can't really do anything about it except hope it stops soon. Fun!). So now that the justifications are out of the way let's have a meme!

hmsharmony gave me Merlin, Doctor Who, and Avatar: the Last Airbender. From Doctor Who I've only seen season 1, the Christmas special, and the first episode of season 2. From Avatar I've seen the first fourteen episodes. So keep that in mind peeps!
