Is anyone on the flist doing Nano this year? I've never finished it but I always have fun making up worlds and characters I'll never fully write out. (I once managed two chapters one year! I was pretty proud of those two chapters, let me tell you.)

Not sure what I feel like not finishing this year, I'm thinking something along the line of teenage wizards. Which is original for me, considering my past two years were both variations on teenage superheroes. I like superheroes, what can I say. I read alot of Animorphs as a child (yes, I define superheroes a little loosely).

I...have never completed Nano, either, but I think I'm really going to put in some effort this year, because I've got a group of characters that I really want to flesh out, and...NANO'S AS GOOD A TIME AS ANY TO DO IT.

And there can never be enough teenage wizards, as far as I'm concerned. ;)

This is the first year I've actually planned to do Nano! For the past three years I was always like 'ahahahaha 50 K you must be kidding me never ever' and then when November came along I was swayed by the fact that my friends were doing it and it looked fun. This year I am choosing to acknowledge that while it is impossible for me to do it's still fun!

I'm doing Nano... I'm in n the "no plot, no problem" phase right now, though -- but there are still 2 weeks for inspiration to strike! ;)

Every year I've done it I've been in the no plot, no problem phase at the start of November. You'll be okay!

Haha, I say this as though I ever leave the no plot phase. My basic method of 'planning' for Nano consists of throwing everything I like at the screen. Shapeshifting! Messing with gender! Complicated friend split ups! Girls with super strength! Snarky boys who generally judge most of the world! Oh wait, I've got 5000 words and now I'm stuck I guess I will just put in some betrayals and a secret conpsiracy? Okay!
