Just found out! =D I'm really glad he's not a oneshot character! This show needs sweet people to balance the cast.
Also hey you've watched seasons 1 and 2 right? Did you have difficulty reconciling Effy's character between then and season 3? It's so weird watching her with all these feelings!
I actually didn't, but I wasn't too invested in S1 and 2 (I know, I'm in the minority). I mean she's still pretty closed off, and you'll see as the show goes on that "all these feelings" have their consequences.
I'm finding that this show is pretty excellent at getting me invested in general. Like I like all of this generation's kids even though there's some I wouldn't have expected to (I feel if someone described James Cook on paper I'd be like I'll totally hate him! And yet I...don't? He is strangely endearing! I suspect this is how Freddie feels 80% of the time)
Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of Cook in S3. :-\ Of course part of that is probably because I'm on Team Freddie in this triangle of doom (I know, I know -- I'm a terrible person for letting shipping politics affect my opinion of him), but in general he's just a TERRIBLE friend to Freddie this series and only cares about getting what he wants. Ugh.
BUT YOU HAVE SEEN THE EPIC KISS OF EPIC. Thoughts? I know that even people who don't ship Freddie/Effy agree that it's beautifully shot. ♥
Is it weird that I'm more mad at him for what he did to Karen? THAT WAS SO UNNECESSARY. HOW COULD YOU DO THAT. >( I was irritated with Freddie because of how he was being before (you can't call your sister a whore! Angst if you want but there are lines you don't cross!) and then he started being nicer about it and I was like oh okay I like you then and it was like surprise! Here is Cook ready to take that burden of dislike upon his shoulders. Idk, I don't find the triangle interesting enough for it to much affect my feelings, I'm just kind of like ok whatever, you three proceed with your masochism tango. Like with Effy I'm more interested with her friendship with Pandora, with Freddie he seems like an okay guy but he needs more development to interest me and with Cook I veer back on forth whether I like him enough to actually care.
and uhh now that I've tl;dr'd all over this comment, yes I've seen the kiss! It really is a very pretty shot, I don't have much thoughts though because like I said the triangle doesn't interest me much. I mean I'd probably lean to Freddie/Effy for sheer aesthetics sake because they look good together but. -hands- Be a more interesting person Freddie!
