The Brampton library is being mean to me. T_T Okay here is some context. Once upon a time there was an author named Karin Lowachee who wrote a sci-fi trilogy (and by trilogy I mean three books in the same universe which can be read alone or out of order but are better if you read them in publication order) of the following books: Warchild, Burndive, and Cagebird. And I read Warchild and it prompted my realization that HEY! I can like sci-fi! This is a genre I can get on with! I guess I will have stop labelling any sci-fi I like as an exception to the rule and just count it as good sci fi now! And then I read Burndive which was good but which I did not like anywhere near as much as I did Warchild and then Cagebird which beat Burndive but still didn't match up to Warchild.
ANYWAYS. The library is being mean to me because I really REALLY want to reread Warchild but they only have Burndive and Cagebird. And it is making me extremely grumpy. >( If they were going to skip buying one of the books why couldn't it have been Burndive? I NEED MORE JOS MUSEY IN MY LIFE, STOP DEPRIVING ME OF HIM.
I picked up Cagebird because I do quite like Yuri, redeemed space pirate that he is but it does not quite fill the hole in my heart. And amazon.ca is charging $30 for a new copy of the paperback becaause apparently the universe is CONSPIRING to make sure I don't get what I want. DDD=
