Does anyone think it would be possible to attain world peace by 2020? I'm probably sounding cynical but I kinda doubt it. I was at the Youth Can Move The World symposium yesterday and I went to a seminar on Peace-ology run by Linda Norris Which incidentally I couldn't find anything on when I googled. 0_o Did I accidentally join a cult very new concept?. Anyways she said she mentored some vision quests with Native Americans and it inspired her to create Peace-ology. Her plan is to get it taught as a school subject for each grade so by the time it's 2020 and all the teenagers of today are world leaders they're going to be peaceful. So yeah, she had some interesting ideas so Grace and I signed up for her six-month weekly meetings "journey" to learn a bit more. And because she's offering a 1000 dollar award for the best composition based on the journey. Wish me luck!

Description thing she put about herself:

Her teachings are simple.
Her truth is justice.
Her goal is empowerment.
Her vision is a world of Peace.

Go to http://www.projecttakeover.ca if you want to try it and find out if I DID join a cult. xD You can run away with me if it gets freaky.

Still happy about YCMW yesterday. I can't believe it was free and still awesome! I think I'm going to sign up for the committee to help next year. Anyways PEYA (Peel Environmental Youth Alliance) did a decent seminar. Only about 17 people signed up and half of them were from Turner Fenton (which is why we're the best school in the world. Or at least the Peel district. xD) but it was still good. Besides that just means everyone else was stupid. That or too eager to go to the hip-hop culture seminar. *shakes fist at said people* You want to learn about hip-hop go watch Much Music! Although I may have to slightly revise my opinion on the whole hip-hop & rap scene. Citizen Kane (he's this new-ish Toronto hip-hop guy) did a performance and he was awesome. Even the last song he did freestyle sounded good (in my experience most rappers sound pathetic live without a music track). Plus there was this really amazing breakdancing guy from some group called Freeflow. 0_o I respect breakdancers. I know I couldn't do their job without breaking a few bones.

They did a clip from this movie called Baraka (which I will borrow from the library ASAP) for the closing ceremonies that was really great. It showed these different cultures praying and stuff and when they finished the whole room was just completely quiet and peaceful. I think it beats meditating any day.

They did some draw at the end and I actually WON something. *dances* As you may have guessed winning at draws is a thing that's very rare for me. It wasn't even one of those lame prizes they start giving out near the end. It's this really cool navy blue duffel bag type thing with the city of brampton logo on it. My friend Grace won something too, as did Ke-Jia (the vice-president of PEYA also the president of Earthcore the enivronmental group at my school). Amusingly enough what she won was a fluorescent lightbulb which what she's been giving out at their seminar. Still, you can never have too many lightbulbs! xD

Anyways I think I have all "Youth Can Move the World" babbling out of my system now. After all I went on and on about it to my family yesterday. Hope this longitty-long Caramilk-induced post (YES longitty is a real word! At least it is now) didn't bore you too much.
