Dear Stephanie Meyer,

I owe you an apology. I read both Twilight and New Moon but I always kind of thought their popularity was overrated. I suspect this was because I did not want to admit to enjoying a vampire romance. I would like to retract any statement I ever made along those veins.

What brought on this apology, you may ask? Well. I read Eclipse. I applaud you Ms.Meyer. That was a brilliant book. Let me try to gather my thoughts coherently enough to explain why.

Well for one thing. Bella and Jacob. You went there. You had her realize she loves him. I'm very sorry, but I totally did not think you would be brave enough to do it. I suspect I was associating you with J.K. Rowling due to the immense popularity you both share and I apologize again for the misjudgement. Sometimes popularity is completely and totally deserved.

While we're at that, you actually made me care about Edward. Which was probably a much bigger task then you thought, because after the sparkly vampire deal I got in Eclipse I consigned him to the role of 'perfect vampire lover which the teenage girls LUV tee hee!'

Yeah okay, I was biased. But. That totally proves how awesome you are! Because reading Eclipse I let go of that and I started seeing him as a person, instead of just a vampire (about the same time Jacob acknowledged it actually. ^^ I was kind of really really biased in his favour. I think it's because everyone liked Edward Cullen so much and I was determined to be contrary). And not only that, he's an INTERESTING person. He loves Bella so much and he's trying so hard for her - he's not perfect, that's why we got his stupid possessive behaviour at the beginning of the book (which I kind of hated him for at that point. I was pretty stubborn in my anti-Edward campaign).

I also started liking Bella. It's not that I disliked her before, just that I didn't really care all that much about her. I was really unimpressed with her behaviour in the first half of New Moon, I spent the time thinking 'for the love of God, Bella, get over him'. In general, I really couldn't empathize too much with any of her conflicts. Once I actually got to caring about both Edward and Jacob though, I got why she was hurting so much about having to hurt both of them. Bella's a really caring person which is something I failed to grasp the first time around.

Also Rosalie and Jasper's backstories? Thank you. That was like a birthday present someone wrote just for me. =D

Sincerely,

Zeineb Y.

P.S. I might frame chapter 22 and hang it on my wall. Just so you know.

So so so much better. =D It also happens to hurt alot in the last 100 pages or so but it's in a good way so I don't care. =) Read it. I finished and I honestly wondered if maybe I missed something in Twilight and New Moon because how could she improve so much between the books?

And you don't know how tempted I am to read what you wrote, including spoilers. I won't though, I'll be good and hold out! ;_;
