I am feeling all inspired and speech-y and I don't know why. I kind of want to start off Earthcore with an epic speech about social responsibility and how you - yes, you - impact your surroundings everyday and you ought to make sure that impact is positive. And Earthcore is all about believing that you can make a change and that environment has broad definitions and is not just trees and polar bears although we are all for those things too.

I don't even know. All the niners are going to stare and everyone else will be like 'whoa Zeineb, what's up? I do not recall Earthcore being so epic in scope last year. Is this change of heart true or are you just really enjoying giving a big dramatic speech?' and I will answer in all honesty: it's a little bit of both. Also I will tell them to read No Logo by Naomi Klein.

I feel all excited now and it's awesome. Particularly considering just a few hours ago I was all nervous sick and worried about how I'm going to handle the club on my own. And there isn't really all that much reason behind it but I feel like I can totally do this and I will use broad definitions of environment as an excuse to recruit people for my pet causes like the Killer Coke campaign (on a slightly off topic note I have taken to calling Coke murder juice when in the presence of a certain Coke guzzling cousin of mine. I am being obnoxious but I do not care).

So right now I am getting my things ready for the Earthcore booth at Grade 9 Orientation tomorrow. I am making a sign that says Earthcore: cool like ice and hot like fire! Because I'm the head and I can do stuff like that. =D

I don't know what brought this on but I hope it lasts. This is so much better then feeling like I'm going to throw up from nerves. \o/
