Wow. It's an extremely weird experience trying to talk to far away relatives on the phone. Well not in general, but just now it was. Because my dad stayed on the phone at the same time and everyone kept switching between Tigringua and English and their voices were loud in the way that it's hard to tell what they're saying and I basically navigated my way through the conversation through judicious applications of 'As-Salāmu `Alaykum (السلام عليكم)*', 'How are you?', 'I'm good, Alhamdulillah (الحمد لله)**'. This worked because we were kind of operating on the 'Zeineb should talk to as many people as possible on our meager phone card time!' principle so different people kept taking the phone and I could just repeat. >_>
I want this book now. =D
Earlier this morning I woke up remembering a dream and I thought it would make an awesome short story. It had logical coherency and everything! But then I went back to sleep and I can't remember any of it now. =(
Also, just in case anyone in the world missed it,
skoosiepants posted her MCR!Spencer story! You should read it, O tiny segment of the f-list interested in bandom type doings.
*Muslim version of hello, it translates to peace be with you
**means thanks be to God although I think it changes a little depending on context. That's what it means in casual conversation anyways
