themadpokerSometime over the past two months I have turned into an old woman. I can barely stay awake past 11 and make plans with friends in the morning (which they inevitably flake on as no one else appears to have put on 40 years over night). Clearly this makes my books and tv all the more imperative to restore to myself some sense of youth.

9. Les Miserables (August 25) -- 3.5 stars
The musical refrains in this were really well done; especially the way Look Down kept re-occuring. I do think all the political stuff could have been handled a bit better? Like everything with Fantine and Cosette and Valjean worked really well (and btw I will offer cookies to anyone who can link me to a Fantine Lives AU because I want it like burning) but the revolutionary stuff didn't get enough context for me to really get behind it. Feelings for Gavroche and Eponine, not so much for Enjolras and his crew. 3.5 stars
