Marathoned Angel Up to 3.15

Fred/Gunn is made of puppies and kittens. Every time they're together I can't stop being gleeful at them. They're so adorable! They have pancakes together! She'll save his life by staking a vampire! Gunn thinks she's really cool! Which is good because he used to be cool too before he met Angel and company!

I hope they last awhile before the show goes into Fred/Wes. I like Wesley but I really prefer him as the pining type. He does it so well! He and Angel can hang out in their Temporary Secondary Guy corner. And while they're there maybe the show can rethink the whole kyrumption thing they're trying to push with Angel/Cordelia. =( It sucks when shows start shipping my ship and do it wrong. I liked their low key comfy vibe! And Angel already had the epic heroes love with Buffy. I watched I Only Have Eyes For You, I did not need Waiting in the Wings. (Well okay actually I kind of did because then I never would have had Charles Gunn: Adorable Ballet Fan but other than that!) If you have to recycle material from an old ship for a new one you are doing it wrong.

This isn't the greatest vid ever but at least it lets you see some of the cuteness! Which is more than I can say for most of youtube. >( Don't people ship these two? I kept finding Wes/Fred or triangle vids when I searched.

YES to everything you said about Cordelia/Angel, which was one of my biggest OTPs of all time before the show decided to make it canon. I loved their bordering on platonic sexual tension with the comfy vibes and the family feel with the possibility that there MIGHT be something more, but never in canon? And I *liked* that Cordelia was the one person who was too smart to ever let herself fall for Angel because she was there for the Sunnydale drama. And then we have them falling in love without Cordelia caring about any of that, and with Angel apparently having forgotten about the curse.

I'm ambivalent on Fred/Gunn (I know I had a reason to be, but I haven't watched "Angel" in forever and cannot remember why?), but infinitely prefer it to Fred/Wes.

I think Joss has a problem with making his ships canon in general! I mean Spike/Buffy was fun back in season five when he was crushing and she wouldn't even consider him. And then there was the mess that was season six/seven which could have been okay if there hadn't been Seeing Red and the attempt to make them a genuine mutual thing after (I don't even understand why he wasted the time! I mean even if I pretend the attempted rape never happened it still would not justify the amount of time spent on Spike/Buffy on season 7. Spike dramatically posing on a cross is the kind of thing the show used to play for humor, not melodrama!)

The only problem I could have with Fred/Gunn is that Joss has a pattern and if they didn't break up I know Fred would've died. But I have been spoiled enough to know that doesn't happen till later so I have no worries yet!

Angel is awesome, I was sure I'd hate it (being a spin-off and all) and then I LOVED IT.

And I loved Cordy and Angel (really didn't like Angel except in scenes with Xander or ♥Spike♥ on Buffy) and Wesley and Fred♥ and Gunn.

And I skipped S4 coz of the whole WTFness and *remembers* OKAY, actually I watched S5 FIRST out of everything and was all \o/ SPIKE \o/ - coz Spike & Angel are the best playing off each other...and then it ended ...and I was COMPELLED to get/watch S1,2,3.

And fell in love with Doyle...and then he died - LOL.

But YAY ANGEL.

Fred and Gunn were adorbs, it was sad they didn't last.

I started with season one, I remember storming off in a huff after Doyle died. Who kills one of the main cast eight episodes in! D= It took me awhile to warm up to Wesley after that even though I knew I was being unfair. What're you doing you Doyle replacement. >l

Cordy is great! I've been spoiled for what happens to her in season 4 and it makes me sadface. =( Though it does make a convenient fanwank for part of her behavious from 3.14 onward. Since when does Cordelia lecture people not to focus on money? Never, that's when.

I want Fred/Gunn to last as long as possible! I don't know when they end, just that they do. Wes/Fred better be pretty amazeballs so I don't resent it on general principle (it took ages for me to get on board with Willow/Tara just because it cost me Willow/Oz. I get attached Joss Whedon! Stop taking away the things I like!)

I haven't seen much Angel, but as far as I'm concerned the only part of Waiting in the Wings that's worth watching is this hilarious deleted scene.
