Eid Mubarak!
Sep. 10th, 2010 07:27 pmIt's Eid today! =D Went to prayers, had much good food, had certain relatives cancel on visiting us boo.
So I went ahead and started watching Sungkyunkwan Scandal up to episode 3 on viikii. And I am now surprised to note that my favourite character is...the hero? 0_o What. I did not expect this. I was sure I was either going to be all about the heroine (pragmatic! crossdressing! works to feed her family! FYI I like her alot too) or Goo Yong Ha who gleefully messes around with everyone and sits back to watch and lol. I have types okay. They’re it. Our hero Lee Sun Joon on the other hand is the privileged son of the Minister of something or another who is a perfectionist and very rigid about adhering to his personal moral code. Think every good guy you’ve ever rolled your eyes at and enjoyed watching the heroine bring down a bit.
Except he’s actually kind of great?!? He does this thing where he is politely super stubborn even if he’s making everyone dislike him or breaking some time honoured ~tradition~ and I sort of love it. And he just refuses to be put down. There’s this one bit in episode 3 where the freshman class is being put through this sort of hazing thing (they’re each assigned a task and if they don’t complete it they’ll be punished) and he does his except he pretends he hasn’t because saying so could get another character in trouble. So later Goo Yong Ha is like ‘you disapprove of our hazing rituals? The point is to humble you, here at Sungkyunkwan we’re all equal no matter whose son you are’. And he just looks at him like :l and says ‘oh I guess you didn’t have to go through it then huh? What with your super flashy outfit showing off that you come from a rich family’. And I was full of GLEE. =D Yes, he is a very rigid good guy! Doesn’t mean he doesn’t have CLAWS. <3

Date: 2010-09-11 04:39 am (UTC)Food is awesome! But I need to stop eating my cookies, they're delicious but also kind of a health hazard. :l I mean I know personally just how much sugar and margarine went into making them.
