Okay so Mockingjay is the final book in a trilogy by Suzanne Collins (it's usually referred to by the name of the first book, The Hunger Games). It is totally awesome future dystopia type deal where a girl named Katniss chooses to fight in the Hunger Games in place of her sister. The Hunger Games are a televised fight to the death between 24 people randomly chosen from the twelve districts that compose the futuredystopic!United States.
An important thing to know is that Katniss Everdeen is AWESOME and is totally determined to survive no matter what she has to do. If this requires acting out a fake romance with her other District 12 competitor in order to garner audience sympathy so be it! There's some really cool commentary going on about war and media and reality tv throught the three books.
Also since the last book is now out you will not have to go through the agonizing wait the rest of the fandom had waiting for Mockingjay. AUGUST 24 WAS A REALLY LONG TIME COMING.
If you read them and start feeling fannish about them you should come talk to me! Significant parts of The Hunger Games fandom is kind of dumb and does not know how to appreciate the awesomeness contained in the books (hence my need to write like two posts arguing against said fandumb).
