It's April! Less then two weeks until I get to go hoooooooome. *_* But here guys, some of the books and shows I have used to console myself during this long departure.
Books
24. Boys Over Flowers Volume 1 by Yoko Kamio -- 4 stars
25. Boys Over Flowers Volume 2 by Yoko Kamio -- 3 stars
26. Bleach Volume 39 by Kubo Tite -- 2 stars
27. The Night Wanderer by Drew Hayden Taylor -- 2 stars (

50books_poc: Book 5)
29. Two Boys Kissing by David Levithan -- 3.5 stars
30. A Light at the End of the Tunnel: The Stories of Muslim Teens -- 3.5 stars (
50books_poc: Book 6)
31. Drinking at the Movies by Julia Wertz -- 3 stars
32. All Good Children by Catherine Austen -- 4 stars
33. The Real Boy by Anne Ursu -- 4.5 stars
34. The Killing Moon by N. K. Jemisin -- 4 stars (
50books_poc: Book 7)
Movies
2. Veronica Mars (March 21) -- 3 stars
Not bad! I did think the framing of Neptune versus New York was weird -- a corporate law firm represents the respectable people Veronica's too dirty for? A CORPORATE LAW FIRM? I'm not saying every corporate lawyer ever is evil but like. It wouldn't make my list of top twenty ethical professions -- but otherwise it had just about everything I liked about the show. Watching it felt like an extended episode actually, for a movie it didn't feel particularly cinematic. Which is fine, everyone's watching this movie for more show anyways. 3 stars
3. Star Trek: Into Darkness (March 22) -- 1 star
I'm struggling to find the redeeming values to this film. Between the racist whitewashing, nonsensical plot, and failed attempts to imbue meaning by copying moments from previous Star Trek films without the context that made them effective I just can't see anything to appreciate here. I'm not a particularly picky movie person! I really liked the first Star Trek movie and I've no attachment to the old franchise to protest over. This is just a really really terrible movie. :/ It did pass the time on my Greyhound ride, I guess there's that. 1 star
