So yesterday I was really sick! And it kind of sucked. Consequently I spent most of the day curled up in my bed reading all the Hunger Games fanfiction I could find. Because fic makes me feel better.

And now I come bearing recs. =D

Sister of the Bride "I say to myself: Time to step up, Primrose Everdeen."

Prim fic! If anyone knows where I can find more of this let me know, this is the only one of her I’ve found so far. This charts Prim’s growth through The Hunger Games and Catching Fire. Also the author wrote this before Mockingjay and it’s kind of amazingly prescient with how well it fits with what we see of her there. Prim steps up. ♥

Apprentice Cinna is willing to be bold, with limits.

This was so hard to pick. =( I’ve got three Cinna fic I really like (all with different takes on him) and you should really give them a look after this. I really like this one for a look into Cinna’s head that focuses on his designs and what would make him the kind of person who would create Katniss’ Girl on Fire look. It’s backstory so you can read this without being spoiled for anything in the trilogy.

Hi there Haymitch. ♥♥♥ My fic bender yesterday gave me a new appreciation for him as a character. Also a doomed ship love for Haymitch/Maysilee but this particular fic is gen. Speaking of which, Maysilee’s just a name in the books which makes her free for pretty much any take on characterization. I like the one here; academic and capable of inciting revolution.

These two are twisted, I kind of love it. Tbh, I’m surprised it took me as long as it did to start seeking out rarepair fic, I don’t normally tend to go for the biggest ships in a fandom. I especially appreciated the section about their reaction to the announcement that there would be two winners for the Quarter Quell. Katniss and Peeta couldn’t be the only ones who heard that and hoped.

and we all fall down Finnick/Annie This is how they drown the victors of District 4.

My favourite take on Finnick/Annie so far. Possibly because it’s the longest, I’m really craving some epic big bang style fic for this ship. So tragic. So OTP. =(

The Panem Victors Breakfast Club

And last but not least, Victors fic. I’ve always liked fic with large ensemble casts, this scratches that itch pretty well. Plus it’s by

electrumqueen who as far as I can tell, is the most epic person in Hunger Games fandom right now. WIP but the first chapter stands pretty well on its own.
