At the beginning there was what I like to think of as the 'OMGIloveyouandshallmoonaboutyoustarstruck' stage. This was when I watched her music videos with a scary intensity, memorized every set of her lyrics I could get my hands on, watched every movie, bought every book (including the unofficial biography), and ran like a madwoman whenever my mom told me there was something Duff-related on TV.

Those were fun times. =)

Then we got to the 'I'm too cool for Duff' stage. This was where I, quite predictably, denied all allegations to ever having been a fan. I'm wearing a Lizzie McGuire t-shirt? You are obviously behind the times. This is, umm, Mizzie Macguire. Absolutely no relation. Really ought to try to keep up, mate.

I'm still not sure what prompted that stage, actually. Put it down to preteen weirdness.

Now, I think we're seeing a Duff revival. Maybe not with the same craziness as before (I think the obsessiveness got redirected to fanfiction... Oh my God I think Hilary Duff might've been my first fandom. 0_o How did I not notice that until this moment?) but she makes good homework music. =)

State your favourites.

My favourite...

Band: Angels and Airwaves. Because that's the prettiest band name I've ever heard, seriously.

Song: Anywhere but Here by Hilary Duff. Okay, so not really lyrical genius. But she has a pretty voice and I'm going through a Hilary Duff revival phase so shut up, okay? Also, I greatly approve of liking whatever place you happen to be in.

Movie: The Dead Poets Society. Even if it did break my heart and stomp on the pieces, I will never ever not love it.

Book: I am the Messenger by Markus Zusak. So basically we have this nice lovely ordinary guy named Ed, right? And Ed starts getting playing cards in his mail. And the playing cards are all mysterious and stuff but they basically tell Ed to go do nice things for people. And Ed goes and does nice things and you go aww and then you go 'OMG awesome!' when you reach the ending.

Author: Markus Zusak. Slightly redundant but everything he's written is good, really. Like Getting the Girl, it's got my favourite poetry in the whole universe (and I usually don't like poetry because I never get it).

City: If I was nice loyal person I'd say Mississauga except sorry, it's really Toronto. And I am being loyal. Sort of. To my age 4 to 10 years.

Say favourites in comments, please? I'm actually curious.
