Wow. I just...wow. I read his little bit at the end explaining what he was trying to accomplish, but this was DEFINITELY not the way to go about it. *shakes head*

I saw the end notes but I was really unimpressed with both of them. Especially the TIME response. =_= Saying they regret that readers were offended and that it was not intended to cause offense is not the same as acknowledging that it was really racist and apologizing for publishing it.

Nope, agreed completely. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt (probably too much), but even with that in mind...you'd have to be REALLY stupid to write an article like that.

For a brief instance I was sad my dad already cancelled his Time subscription last year because it meant I couldn't write a letter to the editor telling them that was what I was going to do. But then I came to my senses and was just glad. In other words, I understand and agree with your actions!
